ELCA Youth Gathering 2015 Rise UpIn the summer of 2015, ELCA Youth and adult leaders will converge on Detroit for the triennial ELCA Youth Gathering. We hope to top our 35,000+ attendees and volunteers who attended the Gathering in New Orleans in 2012. As Heidi Hagstrom, Gathering Director likes to say when asked, “Why Detroit, and why Rise Up Together?”

We were meant to be together, and we are a church that believes God is calling us into the world — together. Check this out! Charlie Roberts (LOWER SUSQUEHANNA SYNOD Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries) favorite Detroit promo video is one NOT produced by the ELCA Youth Gathering, but worth seeing, and showing to apprehensive parents and leaders.

DetroitMaps

Many of you may want to have a feel for the walk between COBO (the convention center), and Ford Field (the “Dome”).
Detroit’s downtown has lots of cool venues like Greektown, Comerica Park (Tigers baseball stadium), Campus Martius Park & Rink, Hart Plaza, the Detroit Riverwalk and more.
So here’s a nice downtown map that gives you an idea of how to find COBO and Ford Field as well as dining options and other attractions.

Meetings of Conferences or congregational leaders

I would like to be available to speak with you about concerns you might have and help us have the best trip to the gathering as a synod group.
Let me know if you are looking for transportation as there is already a large number of people going on bus(es). This would be a great way for us to travel together and prepare as we go to Detroit to be the hand and feet of God.
Please click here and find our synod (5I) and contact me. Or send me an email at sjpastor@bayland.net
