Retreat for Clergy and Rostered Leaders in charge of Faith Formation

Staying Alive Spiritually:

Spiritual Tools for the Spiritual Journey

October 29-31, 2018, Cedar Valley Retreat Center, West Bend, Wisconsin

(Monday evening meal – Wednesday morning).

Cost: $400 for 2 nights, 5 meals.

As a pastor or rostered leader in charge of faith formation, you are expected to live an exuberant life of authenticity and wholeness. Are you, in reality, living in survival mode? Do you ever feel defensive, cynical, withered, and weary? How can you stay alive spiritually as you care for yourself and make room for God?

This relaxing retreat of solitude and sharing will help you put aside being all things to all people as we explore boundaries and balance, Sabbath-keeping, learning to receive, making time for friends, and the sustenance of personal prayer.

Our retreat leader, Rev. Holly Whitcomb, has been a minister in the United Church of Christ since her graduation from Yale Divinity School in 1978 and has served churches in Connecticut, Iowa and Wisconsin. She is also a graduate of the two-year program for spiritual directors in Washington, D.C. A widely traveled retreat leader and popular spiritual director, she has published dozens of articles on spirituality and is the author of four books, including: Practicing your Path and Seven Spiritual Gifts of Waiting. Her fifth book, The Practice of Finding will be published by Eerdmans in February of 2019. Holly makes her home in suburban Milwaukee with her husband John. They are the parents of two adult children.
