April 1st, 2014, from 9 AM to 4 PM - "Healthy Boundaries Workshop for Pastors and other Religious Leaders" - at First Presbyterian Church 200 Church St, Neenah, WI

Led by Rev. Karen Bockelman, this one-day workshop will focus on developing healthy boundaries and sexual ethics for clergy and other religious leaders in a congregational setting. Topics include: Boundary Basics, Risk Factors and Vulnerabilities, Separation Ethics, Mandatory Reporting and Privileged Communication, Social Media, and Congregational Prevention. This is sponsored by the Wisconsin Council of Churches, East Central Synod ELCA, Wisconsin Conference of the United Church of Christ, Winnebago and John Knox Presbyteries, and American Baptist Churches in Wisconsin.

April 1st, 2014 - Rev. Dr. Mitri Raheb Speaking at Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago

You are invited to hear Raheb on April 1, 2014 as history and theology will come to life. Internationally-acclaimed theologian Rev. Dr. Mitri Raheb will speak on his latest book, Faith in the Face of Empire, which draws parallels between the impact of empire in both biblical history and Palestine today.  Raheb will preach in LSTC's Augustana Chapel, 1100 East 55th Street, at 11 a.m., followed by a light lunch and a presentation and book signing in LSTC’s Common Room (350). There is no cost to attend or registration required for this event, which is open to the public.

Please consider the invitation from the Lutheran Church of Sibiu, Transylvania, Romania to come for a 10 day work project June 26 – July 6, 2014 as you work and participate in the life and ministry there. Volunteer builders and generalists are welcome.

July 17th, 2014 - "The 5 Milers Concert" at Performing Arts Center, Appleton, WI

Fox Valley Lutheran Homes has been chosen as one of 3 non-profits to benefit from the proceeds of the 5 Milers Concert July 17 at the Performing Arts Center, Appleton. This will be a night of wonderful classic folk music of the Kingston Trio era by a group that graduated from Neenah High School.
