Doing a New Thing Fund: First Quarter Grants

The ECSW Synod Mission Table is thrilled to announce the recipients of the first quarter's Doing a New Thing Fund grants! These ministry projects from across the synod are embodying creativity and collaboration in the spirit of being curious, being courageous, and being Christ together.

Curiosity Grants

  • Holden Lutheran Parish (Mt. Morris & West Holden Lutheran) was awarded $500 for a project to help them learn about being in relationship with God's people and with one another as partnered congregations

Courageous Grants

  • St. John, Morgan was awarded a $500 grant to help them meet new neighbors in their community through hosting community movie nights

  • Calvary, Antigo was awarded $1000 to develop a sensory space for children with neuro-divergence to play and calm their bodies. This space will add to the vibrant ministry already happening and reaching a large population of new people through Calvary's community meals they host for non-parent caregivers of children. Calvary is partnering with leaders from Head Start and the county health department.

  • Gather by the Bay was awarded $2000 to further develop and grow their ministry to young adults in Northeast Wisconsin

Christ Together Grants

  • Atonement & Christ Community, Green Bay were granted $4500 to contribute to their growing partnership to develop additional child care spaces on the east side of Green Bay.

We celebrate the ministry and creativity of these grantees and look forward to sharing their stories of learning and growth! Doing A New Thing grants are made possible by the generous mission support gifts of congregations of the East Central Synod of Wisconsin.
